BEST PRACTICES - HOW TO GROW YOUR CONTACT LENS REVENUE

Place every order through the DCL platform

To utilize all the system's features & benefits.

Re-order reminders, auto-ship options, tracking information, support for orders, email marketing, exam reminders, insurance tracking, business intelligence & more.

Patient check out

On checkout tell every patient:

"You will get an auto reminder via text/email when you're due to re-order. There is no data entry, it is one click to order, price matched with online vendors and offers free shipping"

Download your staff script here

This will plant the seed for that future sale. Educate them about the new technology you offer so they don't go elsewhere when they need more contacts. Get excited, and they will too!

For in office orders

Sell it at any box price you like. The box price inside the DCL platform is price matched with online retailers. When you select "PREPAID" on the order, this will indicate the patient paid you in office for the order, and will not get a receipt from us.

Create a receipt

From your EMR for their initial in office order.
We recommend selling your in office orders at a few dollars more per box than listed in DCL. This is smart selling. In office they get to use insurance and often don't pay as much, so you can charge a little more for all the work you put in that day when you see them.

When the patient is due to re-order

They will get a text/email. The price per box will automatically be matched with online retailers so you don't lose the sale. This works well because you aren't in front of the patient & they don't have insurance benefits. Patients who re-order may price match you, and if you aren't competitive on this offer, they may go elsewhere. This is your "re-order promotional price" and engages patients really well.

The DCL portal will track all insurance claims

Go to "orders" to view what orders require insurance billing. This will help you stay organized so you never miss billing a claim.
